What Is An "Uncontested Divorce"?

A divorce automatically granted by a court when the spouse who is served with a summons and complaint for divorce fails to file a formal response with the court. Many divorces proceed this way when the spouses have worked everything out and there's no reason for both to go to court -- and pay the court costs.

So it doesn't matter if my ex shows up to court or not? How about the court cost, what is that going to run me? I live in Charleston, he lives in Florida, will that be an issue? Do I need a lawyer, or can I go it alone?

In an uncontested divorce, when representating yourself, what questions should you ask your witness?
