Married Couples Now a Minority
The New York Times reported earlier this week that married couples are now a minority in the United States. The American Community Survey found that in 2005, for the first time, only 49.7 percent of our country's households were made up of married couples, down from 52 percent five years earlier. On the brighter side, the total number of married couples is higher than ever, and the study found that most Americans still marry eventually.
