Remarriage After Divorce

Question:  How long do I have to wait after my divorce before I can legally remarry?

Answer:  There is no mandatory waiting period in South Carolina that one must wait after a divorce, so as soon as you are legally divorced, you are able to remarry.  However, it is very important to note that you are not actually divorced until the Judge signs the Divorce Decree, which does not necessarily take place at the final hearing.

my question is: if the divorce was in texas, and they have a 30-day grace before getting remarried, does that apply if one wants to be remarried in south carolina? note: they have provisions for a waiver to remarry in their laws.

If the divorce was final in Nebraska, they have a 180 day waiting period to remarry, does that law apply if I would get remarried in South Carolina during the 180 day waiting period. And would my marriage be legal?
