vCard

Jonathan W. Lounsberry is a family law practitioner in Spartanburg, South Carolina, handling both simple and complex family law cases, including divorce, property division, support, child custody, visitation, and international family law issues. Jonathan is a native son of South Carolina: born in Spartanburg, and raised for the most part in Columbia. In 2006, Jonathan received a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of South Carolina (Columbia). Following his graduation from USC, Jonathan received his J.D. in 2009 from the Charleston School of Law.

After becoming a member of the South Carolina Bar, Jonathan practiced in several areas of law. In 2011, he began practicing exclusively in family law, working with some of South Carolina's premier family law attorneys, including AAML Fellows James T. McLaren and C. Dixon Lee, III in Columbia and Melissa F. Brown in Charleston. These experiences give Jonathan a unique understanding of the issues clients face during the complexities of a family crisis. As a result, he approaches each case with a deliberate goal to help clients find a direct and fair resolution to their crisis, no matter the complexity.

He is a graduate of the 2015 South Carolina Bar Leadership Academy 2013 American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (“AAML”) Institute for Family Law Associates and the 2014 AAML Advanced Institute for Family Law Associates. Jonathan has also been selected as member of the 2016–2017 Class of Leadership Spartanburg.

Jonathan is an active member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar, the South Carolina Association for Justice, and the Spartanburg County Bar Association. He has presented or assisted with presentations for the South Carolina Bar, the AAML, and the South Carolina Association for Justice. He has also authored and co-authored publications relating to the use of technology in litigation and the practice of family law.
