Legal Assistant
Michelle Davenport is our Front Office Coordinator and Legal Assistant at Stevens Family Law. She supports our Chief Welcoming Office to create a welcoming and professional experience for everyone who interacts with the firm. She also supports our attorneys in case management, document drafting, and ensuring that clients feel heard, supported, and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating requests for consultations from potential clients

Assisting with client intake and administrative processes

Managing scheduling and assists in managing tasks on our cases

Preparing drafts of correspondence and assists in drafting legal documents

Serving as a liaison between clients and others to ensure seamless information sharing to help cases progress smoothly
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
- Maintaining organized client files and records
- Helping to ensure smooth day-to-day office operations
Professional Background & Experience:
Before joining Stevens Family Law, Michelle worked as a medical lab technician specializing in Transfusion Services at Spartanburg County's only Level One Trauma Center. During her seven years there, her work included working with patients, administrative responsibilities, and ensuring compliance.
Michelle's experience there allowed her to hone her skills in communication, customer service, critical thinking, time management, organization, problem solving, stress management, and attention to detail – all attributes that make her a great fit at Stevens Family Law.

- Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Spartanburg Community College (2019)
- Lander University, candidate for Bachelor's of Science in Laboratory Management (expected graduation Spring 2027)
- John Hopkins University Infectious Disease Transmission Models for Decision Makers Certification (2025)
- MLT (ASCP) Certified (2019)
- Lean Six Sigma Certification, Yellow Belt (2024)
Personal & Professional Interests
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and three cats. Her interests include spending time outdoors (preferably in the mountains or on a beach), gardening (elephant ears are her favorite), reading, crocheting, and attending concerts. Professionally, Michelle intends to pursue a Masters in Business Administration upon her graduation from Lander.
